Prayer Guide

Under Construction February 2008

"Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior…"   —1 Timothy 2:1-3

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God; and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." —Philippians 4: 6-7

"If my people who are called by My name, will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." —2 Chronicles 7:14

The OFPC PRAYER Guide

This Prayer Guide will be updated by May 1, 2008, on the National Day of Prayer

Via the Oklahoma Family Policy Council Prayer Guide, Oklahoma citizens have an opportunity to humbly turn their hearts toward Almighty God and seek His face. If only we will pray with child-like faith as small as a tiny mustard seed, the Lord Jesus Christ has promised that our simple prayers will have the power to move mountains.

Admittedly, prayer is hard work. If Jesus' own disciples had a consistently hard time with faithful prayer, we must acknowledge our own failings, too. But nothing—no work, no human activity—can so impact our own day, our culture, and the lives of people, as will our sincere prayers to our heavenly Father, the God who intervenes in human history.
