Family Policy Councils

Since 1988—with the cooperation of, and in close association with, Dr. James C. Dobson and Focus on the Family—business, professional and community leaders from across the nation have formed state-based organizations called Family Policy Councils (FPCs) to invest in the future of America's families.

While each of the many FPCs reflect, to some extent, the individual, unique interests of their leadership, many common patterns emerge. Each FPC conducts public-policy analysis, promotes responsible and informed citizenship, facilitates strategic leadership involvement, and influences public opinion. Many FPCs also perform necessary community and statewide work to affirm family and traditional, Judeo-Christian values.

These Councils are independent entities with no corporate or financial relationship to each other, or to Focus on the Family. Their purpose, however, is uniform: to serve as a voice for the traditional, Judeo-Christian family and to assist advocates for family values in recapturing the moral and intellectual high ground in the public arena.

Oklahoma's FPC:

The Oklahoma Family Policy Council, founded in December 1989, was among the first of these FPCs nationwide. Like other nonprofit organizations, each FPC is guided by its own volunteer board of directors—chosen, perhaps uniquely, from within Oklahoma's business and professional communities—and led daily by a professional, full-time staff.

We invite you to learn more about your Oklahoma Family Policy Council on this Web-site. Then, if you're ready to roll up your sleeves, alongside your fellow Oklahomans, to join the movement toward better government and a more involved citizenry, we at OFPC stand ready to help you.

We also invite you to call the Oklahoma Family Policy Council with your questions at (405) 787-7744 or (toll-free) 1-(888)-381-0044. Other FPCs Nationwide:

Please consider informing your friends and family who live in other states about the exciting FPC movement. We're sure they would benefit from personal contact with their own state's FPC. The continued growth, leadership and professionalism of FPCs across the United States is quite impressive.
